I've been working on the textured boards with acrylic paint and inks. The two elephant ones I treat differently and painted tones on the elephant with a mixture of white and payne's grey, leaving the background white. Then, like the other boards, used acrylic ink and matt medium to put washes of dribbly colour over. I've been working on the elephants and the guinea fowl again today but think I might have overdone it. Think they looked a bit better before so going to let them dry and see if I can rescue them. Decided to leave the backgrounds of the elephants white as fits more in with endangered theme and looks effective. Leaving some of the dribbles as I want them to be a characteristic of my artwork. Enjoying the process but need to learn when to stop and remember I'm not after a perfect likeness so need to keep it loose too.
